Mike Rother serves as Senior Vice President, Operations for NextGear Capital.
Mike began his automotive industry career as a Software Engineer with a startup called CDMdata, which was later acquired by Kelley Blue Book. Mike held various roles across Kelley Blue Book and CDMdata, primarily in operations, product and strategy. When Kelley Blue Book was acquired by AutoTrader in 2011, Mike transitioned into Sr. Leadership at CDMdata and joined the HomeNet Automotive management team to assist with integrating the two businesses. He was responsible for both the operations of CDMdata and the product and strategy for HomeNet Automotive. In 2012, Mike took on additional technology responsibilities, leading to a move from Scottsdale, AZ to Exton, PA in June, 2013 to focus on the growth and direction of CDMdata and HomeNet Automotive’s combined software business.
Mike’s additional professional achievements include developing and growing leaders within the organization, as well as participation in the Leading for Organizational Effectiveness (LOE) program in 2012.
Mike studied Computer Science at DePauw University in Greencastle, IN. He and his wife, Carolyne, have two sons, Brock (five years old) and Brady (three years old). Mike’s interests include backpacking and mountain biking, ceramic arts and pottery, music and mentoring.
